The magazine was called LadySport Magazine and was very serious and exclusive,the main focus was women's sports with a little digression on health aspects and related things. I was full of enthusiasm - that's me always with most of what you are up to - a whole firework of creativity! It was incredibly knowledgeable in the most eccentric things, from interval training to metabolic waste products in the blood, etc. One could made comparisons between Merlene Ottey, the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 and Wilma Rudolph, the Rome Olympics in 1960, etc. The latter, fornearly half a century ago, ran 100 meters in a time under 11 seconds - manual timing!
According to contemporary lyrical reporters hereby reducing her American team-mates to "a bunch of chubby girls running after the bus ..." So it went on. It was great fun.
This was most rewarding - not exactly in becoming rich - but a lot of advanced features and articles with a picture byline and all that - the ultimate karma for a hardworking reporter. I advaced to write on the editorial page. Yes! ... This I had nearly forgotten, but the magazine showed up in an archive uprising, see here evidence of that time!We who worked had nice jackets with the magazine's name in print. Oh, Those Were The Days! Unfortunately, publishing a LadySport magazine was not profitable, thus it was discontinued after a few years. Sigh! As always one been a decade ahead of time ...
