Påmindes om att samma dag som idag, fast för några år sedan, fick jag ett brev. På kuvertet stod det prydligt präntat mitt förnamn "Lispett". Är det inte underbart? Precis som jag känner mig (och ser ut/låter?). Hädanefter ska jag skriva mig Lispett Den Läspe & Halte (f.d.) uppfödare av gråspettar. Inga människor kan ta fel... Ett par av mina utrikes bekanta tror att jag heter Lisbert..Vad är det för fel på mig..?

     (Jan 2012) According to officials in the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan, at least 47 armed militants were killed and 241 militants were detained following military operations by Afghan National Army soldiers during the past one month.

Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Zahir Azimi following a press conference on Wednesday said, around 20 military operations were conducted in various regions of Afghanistan.

Gen. Azimi further added, at least 18 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed and 10 others were injured during the military operations.

He also said, at least 3,600 kilograms of drugs, 70 AK-47 assault rifles, 130 kilograms of explosives and some other weapons and ammunitions were seized by Afghan army during the operations.

According to Gen. Zahir Azimi, the security situation has improved by 22% as compared to the previous month.

He also announced another major operation which is due to be launched in the near future.

KABUL, Jan18 (Reuters) - Heavy snow that has blanketed large parts of Afghanistan, killing at least 20 people, could end a long-running drought that last summer threatened millions of people with severe food shortages, government and aid officials said on Wednesday.
But the weekend snowfall and avalanches across the mountainous north and centre could bring a bitter winter and short-term hardship to many people, with many roads still cut off, hampering food delivery in several hard-hit provinces.

After much fight and gun exchanges.. we have to stay out there at the mountain for hours..It´s freezing cold.. I been trapped at the Mountain for fews days now..we lack of Gas supply in our trucks.. Even our helicopter got under fire.. It's horrible here at times..I get back few hours ago..I was so tired , i went to bed straight without eaten..I 'm just rolling out from bed not quite long.
I have been thinking on you often,,I don't have access to the internet or phone calls...I know you will be worried..

According to a statement issued by NATO-led International Security Assistance Force Media office in eastern Afghanistan, more than 100 militant insurgents were killed following International coalition forces operations in eastern Kunar province during the past one week.

The statement further added, the operations were conducted in Ghazi district of Kunar province by coalition forces to clear the area from the militants activities.

According to the statement, at least 3 militants commanders and 115 insurgents were killed during the operations.

Provincial governor for Kunar province confirmed the operations and said, the operations will further improve the security situation in Kunar province.

This comes as the militant insurgents had increased their operations across the Kunar province during the past months, carrying out insurgency attacks against the Afghan and foreign forces.

Meanwhile, some reports suggests that United States has deployed hundreds of troops in bordering Afghan provinces with the Pakistan.
