Scottie Dog - vintage picture A sturdy, dour little dog, very faithful and game. Head long, nearly flat in skull, with slight depression between eyes and level mouth. Nose large and black. Eyes almond-shaped, dark brown and deep set. Ears neat, pointed and erect. Neck muscular and of moderate length. Chest broad and deep. Forelegs short, straight and heavily boned. Feet of good size and well padded. Hack straight, proportionately short and very strong. Loin deep and muscular. Hindquarters very powerful with well-bent stifles. Tail moderately long, tapering and carried up. Coat harsh, dense and wiry; undercoat short, dense and soft.
