January is the month of Travel Boxes. "Beware of Travel Boxes," Mother used to caution. "especially those with small, barred windows - or you may fin yourself flying through the air, towards a Strange Place and Motherhood!"

Dear Mother came to the House where I live in just such a box, and she never let one forget the fact.

Other aspects of travel boxes are that they somehow are connected with visits to the Smallest (by inches) of my Owners. One never admits that travelling to faraway-places would even be tolerable, although Her Establishments does have certain advantages.    There is an unfailing abundance of catnip mice scattered about. The catnip mice make charming souvenirs, and I usually bring one home with me.

Unfortunally those visits usually end up on the wrong foot in the bathroom and with shampoo and set. Yuk! Yuk! One use to mind a little less if one can look forward to some cuddling afterwards with Young Master.   Mandy exotic kitten
